Self care is not only about cutting one’s nails regularly, or getting a haircut now and again, or cleaning one’s teeth twice a day. When we’re knee deep in therapeutic parenting it’s about taking care of our emotional, mental and physical health. Self care is often overlooked (it’s perhaps seen as a bit self centered), but it’s one of the most important aspects of adoptive parenting.
