‘Dinner’s ready’ I call.

‘Dinner’s ready!’

Then a few minutes later ‘DINNER’S READY’ to the sound of no one finishing what they’re doing and coming to the kitchen.

I am currently introducing more ‘You Choose’ house rules in an effort to encourage cause and effect thinking. I start eating my dinner because I choose to eat hot, appetizing food and because I’m not certain that dutifully waiting for everyone while my dinner congeals isn’t sending unhealthy messages about mothers and doormats.
